Scary thunder

Wow, first rain of the season and it came at night with loud thunder! Poor Emma was terrified. I tried to explain (as it was explained to me as a child) that it is just God bowling, and the loud thunder is when he knocks down all of the bowling pins! So, she tried hard to grasp that concept (bright me forgot she hasn't been bowling in over a year and probably doesn't remember what it is...). So Daddy came in to check on her and she informed him that 'it's okay because that loud thunder is just God's rolling pins.' How cute!!

This turned into a 15 minute conversation about God and Heaven. Is it far away? Is it all the way in NY? How can it be farther than NY? Can we go there? Is it on a cloud?

So the way we left it - God now has a slip-n-slide and the thunder means he is crashing down onto his bottom and the rain is the water splashing off the slip-n-slide. The really loud thunder is when he runs backwards and slips down the slide on his bottom.

Such a cute age!
