First, pick a ball that isn't bigger than your own head.

Then carry it very carefully so you don't break your toes.

Oops, this one is bigger than her head. It's only 6 pounds, but that is nearly 1/4 of her body weight!

Set it down very gently so you don't break the floor, either.

Always ask mom if you can go now, even if she already said yes.

No, it isn't soccer, don't kick it! She tried this only once and her toe hurt a bit afterwards.

Give it a good shove . It's more fun if they go zig-zag down the lane!

Watch and wait for about 2 minutes while it rolls very slowly. The lane must be on a downslope, otherwise the ball wouldn't have made it to the end...

Do "the walk", shaking your bottom and twirling your braids. This apparently eggs the ball on and gets it to the end, eventually.

Wait for your ball for the second turn.

Catch it if you can.
Twirl again.
YAY! I got some pins down!!!!

Now Schuyler is up. He chose to do his dance before releasing the ball

Releasing it well in advance of the line....better safe than sorry!

Watching and waiting...

and not enjoying all of Dad's pictures.
Fun had by all.
Lessons learned today:
Bowling balls are not soccer balls.
They aren't baseballs, either.
Mom should also use the lane with the bumpers.
