Advice?

Anyone got some good advice for a 5 year old turned vegetarian?

All I hear now from my dear little Emma is "Poor chicken" or "poor" what ever we are having and she is in tears. She broke down to tears in COSTCO today when we bought a chicken because they had to die so we could eat them. I think it was too much for her to see so many 'dead chickens', all lined up in a row.

I (meanly) pointed out that the vegetables were living once, too, and she has no problem with that. She, in her infinite wisdom, informed me that animals dying is different.

I knew we probably shouldn't have read Charlotte's Web to her.....why does she have to be so smart??
