Christmas Newsletter 2012

Greetings from our new home!

The biggest news of 2012 is that, after countless hours (months!!) of searching and researching, online and in person, walk-by’s, drive-by’s, and open houses, and several offers, we have purchased our first home in Fremont, CA!

There is much work still to do, but things are coming along.  The kids are super excited about their new rooms (sans white walls) and new neighbors with children of similar ages.  Parents are excited that everyone isn’t piled on top of one another (and the walls are only white if we want them to be).

We took a break from house hunting during summer for a week long road trip in the south-western states.  It was a very quick trip and we got to see a lot.  Death Valley in the summer isn’t so bad, so long as you have AC.  The Grand Canyon is amazing, as are so many other locations.  It was interesting to hear the kids’ take on many things we saw and finding out more about how they view the world.

Schuyler went to one last CLC Basketball Tournament in Eau Claire, WI in the spring, followed by graduating 8th grade and being confirmed.  Then he rolled right into high school (and turned 14!) and ran with the cross country team.  It was an adjustment, but Schuyler did great acclimating to a very large public high school after 4 years at a very small private school.

Emma continues gymnastics (and using our new house as her personal gym, specifically the stairs…head first crawling on her hands…and other random routes of descending and ascending) and soccer.  The Teal Tigers only lost one game!  Emma is a fantastic and fierce defender, and TTT’s did not let anyone score a goal while Emma was defending!  She also continues with violin, and enjoys taking on musical challenges (and challenging her teacher…).   Emma turned 9 in August and started 4th grade.

We hope this letter finds you all well and happy.

Love to all, Merry Christmas and a blessed 2013!

Sean, Terry, Schuyler and Emma Walker
