The Reds played another awesome game. First note is that we had last ups and came into our last up at 12-11 so we didn't complete since we already won. So don't let that "won by one" fool you. We could have scored so many more!!
First inning Schuyler played right field. Lots came in there and he played well, getting them back to infield. One play in particular he got it to first baseman for the first base out. He was not up to bat this inning (he was next up when we scored the 5 run limit, so he was first up next inning).
Second inning Schuyler played second. Lots of grounders, got them to first. Batting - walk off a 4-2 count with a run scored off of next batters.
Third inning Schuyler played 3rd. AWESOME play here. Ball went way over his head to left fielder who snagged it fast and threw it to Schuyler for the out! Batting was a walk on a 4-0 count. He stole second, then on another batter (rather, an overthrow) stole both 3rd and home!
Fourth inning played center field with absolutely no action. Batting here was a strike out on a 3-3 count. Everyone in the stands agreed that 2 of those strikes were really balls (one of them landed in the dirt just shy of the plate...) but we can't argue with the Umps. He was upset, but got over it quickly. It was so sweet to see another team mate give him a minute and then come over and give his back a quick little rub and then walk away. They all are very sensitive and understand how one another feels. I heard from another mom that her son told her that when Schuyler strikes out he's upset, but he tries to tell him a joke because then he laughs and every thing is all better. How cute are these boys??
Fifth inning Schuyler sat out, and again we didn't get our last ups because we already won.
No Sean, no camera, but Emma found some new friends and participated in making a 'birds nest' out of grass and weeds. She only once almost got knocked in the noggin with a foul ball.
