Game 14: Reds vs. Phillies 12-4 REDS

Most important in this post is not that the Reds won the game. It's not that they finished the regular season in second place in their division. The most important thing in this post is that SCHUYLER SWUNG!!

So, game 14 Reds Vs. Phillies was the last game of the regular season.

Inning 1 - Schuyler sat out. He didn't get up to bat in this inning either

Inning 2 - left field with no action. No batting this inning.

Inning 3 - right field, no action. Up to bat with a no swing strike and then 2 strikes with good swings. He wasn't upset that he was out this time.

Inning 4 - played 2nd. Not much action, but good pitcher back up. Up to bat with a strike out. He swung all of the 5 pitches, made good contact on 3 but they were foul. He left the plate with the biggest grin on his face and his teammates and Reds fans going crazy because he swung! His teammates are such good sports and were so excited for him for actually swinging - didn't bother them a bit that it was an out.

Inning 5 and 6 he sat out and didn't get up to bat in the 5th. We didn't have last ups in the 6th because we already won 12-4.

The inning after his second up a teammate was about to go up to bat and he went over to Schuyler, clapped him on the back and said "I'm still thinking about you swinging" and he was smiling like crazy when he said it. He did such a great job and was so excited, and it was the icing on the cake for him that his team noticed how much he tried.

Of course, this trying involved a bribe on our part, and we sweetened the deal and let him pick where we went for dinner before going out for ice cream. Emma made out on that deal, too :)

Playoffs start next week. Will post each game from playoffs, of course! Sean got pics, but they still need to be downloaded. He almost got creamed by the ball while taking pics...good thing the camera didn't get damaged!
