Reds win again, thank goodness!
Inning 1 he sat out fielding and didn't get up to bat
Inning 2 played shortstop uneventfully with good coverage of 2nd as a just in case. Our pitcher pitched to 4 batters - only one made it to first base. Up to bat Schuyler walked on a 4-1 count, stole 2nd, stole 3rd and scored off a great hit.
Inning 3 he played 2nd base uneventfully again with good pitcher back up. Up to bat was a strike out on a 2-3 count. End of this inning had us ahead at 10-6.
Inning 4 he played left field with absolutely no action. He did not get up to bat again.
Inning 5 played 3rd base with good plays here - good coverage of the base, ready for if/when the catcher tried to get the player on 3rd out. Score 11-10 Orioles half way through this inning. Batting resulted in a 4-0 walk - the only time I haven't been disappointed in his lack of swinging - the balls were WAY out of the strike zone (the 4th was about 1 1/2 feet above his head). This walk was the tie run and an RBI for Schuyler (yes, at this level we do have RBI's on walks). Schuyler got around to home again and at the end of the inning score was 15-11 Reds.
Inning 6 he played right field completely uneventfully because our super pitcher struck them all out. No ups again because we were home team and won already 15-11.
They all played really well. It was 95 degrees, they were hot and sweaty and a bit grumpy, but they played well - and more importantly they play as a team.
No pictures from this game - Sean had to work. But, Emma keeps making new friends every time now, although she was highly disappointed in loosing her new dinosaur somewhere on the school grounds - and I couldn't find it for her - so if anyone else finds a half inch tall dirt colored dinosaur in and around the baseball field (haha) you know who it belongs to!
